Station setup & gear

A visual tour inside the amateur radio shack of PD3CFG in Apeldoorn. Discover the core transceivers, digital configurations, and antenna systems powering daily contacts across the globe.

Primary rig: Yaesu FT-991A

At the center of the shack sits the versatile Yaesu FT-991A. Covering HF through UHF, this all-mode transceiver provides reliable power, crisp audio processing, and seamless CAT control essential for precision digital operating.

Custom software modifications

The operating environment relies on dedicated software modifications and integrated interfaces. Tailored digital routings optimize decoding sensitivity, waterfall displays, and quick station automation directly from the computer desk.

Digital modes: FT8, RTTY, and SSTV

Station activity is focused largely on weak-signal digital modes. While FT8 is the primary mode for chasing DX around the clock, regular activity also includes classic RTTY contesting and receiving SSTV imagery over the bands.
